The Non-Invasive Neurostimulation Therapies (NINET) Laboratory at the University of British Columbia (UBC) is committed to investigating the most relevant research questions that can translate safely, rapidly, and efficiently into clinical practice. We focus on alleviating the suffering of those afflicted with severe forms of mental disorders. We actively engage in collaborations locally, across Canada, and internationally to further the impact of our research lines and expand beyond clinical research into basic research investigating the mechanisms by which non-invasive neurostimulation treatments work. We believe making knowledge accessible to the public is a powerful tool to enhance health and well-being in our communities, and thus proactively reach out and make every effort within our means to make that knowledge available on our website, through scientific meetings and publications, and public talks. Providing educational opportunities to trainees through their involvement in research is a top priority: our goal is to pioneer the training of the first generation of formally trained interventional psychiatrists in Canada.
