The NINET Lab is excited to announce the Canadian rTMS treatment and Biomarker Network in Depression (CARTBIND) Trial is open for recruitment at the University of British Columbia! CARTBIND is a joint initiative with our collaborating sites in Toronto –  Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) as well as the University Health Network (UHN). It is the second research strategy under the large “CAN-BIND” project which aims to take the guess work out of psychiatric treatment for depression, by finding clear and objective ways of matching the right treatment to the right patient for various types of depression.

The treatment is every weekday (Monday-Friday), for six weeks consecutive. There will be two rTMS treatment sessions spaced one hour apart every weekday. Each treatment session is 10-15 min. There are also research measures that will be taken before and after the treatment course (MRI, Blood Draw, Brain Activity measures).
