Volunteer, NINET Laboratory; BSc, Science.
I’m a third-year science student at the University of Victoria, studying Biopsychology with a concentration in neurobiology. I find neuroscience a fascinating area of study and am excited to continue learning more about this both in my studies and my experience with the lab. At the NINET laboratory, I have been involved this past summer as a research assistant, which primarily focused on working with our research participants in the CARTBIND study, as well as having the chance to do some research of my own. My primary focus of interest is looking at individual differences in depression. My current project examines how cognitive abilities are affected by major depressive disorder depending on symptom presentation. Through my research, I hope to learn more about the mechanisms involved in different subtypes of depression. In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, painting, and spending time with friends.
